GREEN IS THE COLOR 2005

An interesting take on the old Saskatchewan Roughriders theme song.

Randomness of summer

Wow, summer is almost gone.

The heat and humidity of a week ago has turned to mild and drier weather. Personally, I like temperatures around 25 Celsius as compared to 35 or higher. Then you just don't feel like moving. The downside is, as we start cooling off, it also brings about the reminder that, yes indeed, we are not that far from fall. It doesn't help that most sports television networks are beginning to broadcast the changes to NHL clubs and their lineups.

Just had another reminder as we were putting together our latest edition of the weekly newspaper. And that was the announcement of the last week before the pool closed down for the summer. Another glaring reminder would be the fact that September Labour Day Long Weekend is already on everyone's minds. That last weekend to get on the lake, that last weekend before school really starts getting into swing. And, for me of course, that Labour Day clash of the titans in the Canadian Football League, the Labour Day Classic between Saskatchewan and Winnipeg.

The lesson is always the same. Hold onto summer for as long as you can. Don't complain (much) about the weather. Because once winter hits, it's all down hill from there.

Welcome to Saskatchewan.

In the beginning

Okay, a touch presumptuous, but yes, this is the beginning. I'll be posting things in the future here, such as thoughts, pictures and prose.

And to expand on this original post...

A blog is an easy way to communicate, post ideas and share a few things along the way. I take photographs, I'm not a professional photographer, but I like taking pictures. I'll post shots up here.

I also write, again not professionally, but I do some prose work. A lot is based on characters I play in City of Heroes and in Neverwinter Nights. And yes, I do game. Not as much as I used to mind you, it's too much of a drain on that thing called spare time when I could be doing other productive stuff.

Anyway, welcome aboard.
